Product material

Alloy 2205 (UNS S32305/S31803) is a duplex stainless steel containing 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5-6% nickel, and nitrogen. It offers excellent resistance to general, localized, and stress corrosion, along with high strength and remarkable impact toughness.

Compared to 316L and 317L austenitic stainless steels, Alloy 2205 provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in nearly all corrosive environments. It also features high resistance to corrosion fatigue and erosion, while exhibiting lower thermal expansion and better thermal conductivity than austenitic grades.
